JUDICIAL SECURITY DEPUTY

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a HCSO Judicial Security Deputy (JSD), you will be responsible for a variety of safety functions including courtroom and building security and the safety and coordination of inmates being transported to and from court holding and the courtroom. You will be providing an invaluable service to our community by ensuring the safe and secure operation of our county’s judicial system.

JSDs can serve on some special assignment teams such as our Honor Guard Unit. This position gives you the skills and experience needed to apply and become a Patrol Deputy with HCSO.

STARTING SALARY

$51,000

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 21 Years of Age or Older
  • Have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Complete all steps in the HCSO Hiring Process

This position has a special register and you must meet one of the following in order to apply

  • One year of full time POST certified law enforcement and/or correctional institution experience, or
  • Successfully completed a basic police academy, or
  • 60 hours college credit in criminal justice, homeland security, fire science or related field (must provide transcript or copy of degree), or
  • 2 years full time public safety experience as EMT, paramedic or firefighter, or
  • 2 years of active duty military in the armed forces (must have a honorable discharge), or
  • 5 years of guard or reserve experience (time in service and training will be evaluated as to qualification)
